I grew up in East Tennessee, and attended East Tennessee State University for my undergraduate degrees in Microbiology and Chemistry.  I met my wife, Liz, while at ETSU.  We married in 2004 and now have four children, Noah, Tovah, Judah, and Norah.

I began studying at Southern Seminary in the Fall of 2003 and completed my M.Div. in Biblical and Theological Studies in December 2007.  I began the Ph.D. in Old Testament Studies in 2008 and finished that degree in May of 2015.  I currently serve as Assistant Professor of Old Testament Interpretation at Boyce College, the undergraduate school at Southern Seminary.

We attend Ninth & O Baptist Church in Louisville, KY and serve there in a number of capacities.  I teach a college small group, while my wife serves in the children’s and women’s ministries.
